Jeff Chapman

A resident of central Japan for 31 years, Jeff began performing and recording original music as a teenager in Colorado, and moved to Los Angeles to attend music school and enter the music business. His path took him in unexpected directions: working in the financial sector, relocating to Hamamatsu and later Nagoya to serve for nearly two decades as an in-house writer/editor and translator for automotive and technical clients, starting a family and doing Web and graphic design on the side. After leaving Japan briefly in 2012 to launch his freelance translation and interpreting venture, Jeff returned to Nagoya and revived his long-abandoned connection with music, while shifting from automotive to music-related translation projects. He has composed, produced and released several original songs in collaboration with global artists and enjoys cycling, Star Trek, Mac computers, starry nights, long walks and journeys by train.
