Paul Koehler graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Advertising Studies. After working as a reporter in the United States, he moved to Japan, living and working in the Chubu area for about 8 years. He has been a translator and interpreter since 2009, and is involved with both JAT and the American Translators Association (ATA), where he serves as the administrator for the Japanese Language Division.
Currently based in Los Angeles, he loves swapping stories about the latest ways to make work more efficient when he isn't finding time to go to the beach! This will be his second trip to Japan since the onset of the pandemic, and he is particularly looking forward to coming back to Forum 8, where he often attended monthly JAT sessions as a new translator.
