Helen Iwata was JAT President from 2009 to 2013 and served for many years on JAT’s Tokyo Activities Committee.

After a 2-decade in-house career as a translator, editor, and manager - including leading the client communications team at McKinsey Japan for 10 years - Helen established her own business and became obsessed with helping overworking professionals to have more impact with less effort - through the power of the Sasuga! Success Cycle.

She’s now an award-winning coach and the go-to expert for multiple multinationals to design and lead their training and coaching programs for women’s success and communication skills.

Helen is a TEDx speaker and coach, Nikkei Style columnist, author of the Japanese book Eigo no Shigoto-jutsu, host of The Sasuga! Podcast, and… a karate world champion!
